John Doughton graduated from the Virginia Military Institute, Class of 2015 with a Bachelors of Science in Civil & Environmental Engineering, mainly focusing in transportation and geo-technical engineering. He has worked for Allegheny Construction and began working for the Virginia Department of Transportation as an engineering technician in the summer of 2013. He has 5 years of roadway construction and pavement inspection experience, along with 10 years of customer service and business entrepreneurship. The Doughton family has roots in roadway construction dating back to 1928 in Tazewell County Virginia as shown in the above photo. John shares the dream of his great grandfather , building roads and emersing himself in the daily aspects of roadway construction, specifically focusing in Pavement construction and maintenance.
