It all started when Martha Couture housewife and mother of three decided she did not want to fall prey to "empty nest syndrome." Martha, with the help of her husband Jim Couture a builder, set up shop in 1980 originally known as "The Silver Sun". What began as a small enterprise in her basement grew into a thriving business. With the help of Martha's daughters Cynthia and Diane the business grew and flourished into what is well known in the area as "Artisan's Marketplace".
