Anchorage Montessori has served our community, working to make Montessori education a dynamic force in the lives of children and their  families since 1977. AMS provides an education for the "whole child" through programs which value the balance between academic, social and emotional needsof children from a developmental perspective.  The Montessori philosophy & methodology has seen success world wide for more than 100 years.  Within the AMS community, we believe in the dignity of children and in their inherent right to our protection, assistance, and guidancein fulfilling their greatest potential.  We are devoted to helping children  develop a love of learning they will take with them through life.  All teachers at AMS are Montessori certified, committed to excellence and tothe philosophy which guides them. The teachers, parents and students foster strong  partnerships - encouraging everyone to share their lives, learn and grow alongside  the children. Through the development of intellect, community and connection, AMS strives to help bring about a peaceful world in which every person’s contribution is  cherished and in which all barriers to understanding and acceptance have been removed.
