American Foundry Society, established in 1896, is an organization that provides services to the metal casting industry. It assists its clients in managing all production operations, market products and services, and employee management. AFS also promotes the interests of the foundry industry before the legislative and executive branches of the federal government and offers support in the areas of technology, management and education for the growth of industry. AFS monitors the activities of congressional committees, subcommittees and governmental agencies, and its affiliates include more than 48 local chapters and 34 student chapters in the United States, Canada and Mexico. American Foundry Society has more than 10,000 members in over 47 countries and is located in Schaumburg, Ill.
