Alpine Foods is a perishable, frozen and dry grocery redistributor in the greater Northwest area, which includes western Montana and Alaska. Its customer base includes up to 500 distributors, manufacturers and jobbers, including major retailers. In 1983, Greg and Melody Carlston established Alpine Food Distributing to purchase and redistribute food products in the Portland, Ore., metropolitan area. At that time, there was only one employee. Since that time, the company has grown to include 50 employees and a large list of products and vendors. It features a large number of vendors, such as Tyson Foods, SaraLee, Schwans Foodservice, Pilgrim s Pride, Nestle Food Services, Dean Foods, Keebler, Jennie-O, Hormel Foods, Heinz and Foster Farms.
