I AM a editorial and commercial portrait & lifestyle photographer living in Durham. North CAROLINA. I grew UP in Minnesota and graduated from the university of ST. Thomas. In ST. Paul. MN. With a B. A. In entrepreneurship. During MY time there I was a CAPTAIN of the school's NCAA division III wrestling team and a photo editor for the school's newspaper. After college, a love of photography. Combined with direction and help from an advisor. Lead ME to become an intern AT the Dayton Hudson photo studio. In Minneapolis. Where I SAW the creativity. Technical knowledge and teamwork it takes to create a successful commercial photography campaign. I later worked AS a photography assistant in the twin cities metro area before beginning MY journey into the news industry. For the following 14 years I was a staff photographer for organizations in Iowa and Florida where I combined MY experience in the commercial world with the journalistic approach of the news world. I AM NOW a freelance photographer. Consistently working to develop NEW projects and create NEW CONNECTIONS. FROM athletes and earthquakes to politics and portraits. I'VE photographed people in a wide variety of circumstances. Throughout MY career. MY goal in ANY situation has always been the same. . . To build relationships and create intimate. Compelling.
