Airgas Dry Ice, a division of Airgas, is the largest wholesale dry ice distributor to grocery stores in the United States. Its Penguin Brand dry ice is on a direct-delivery basis to more than 4,000 grocery stores, including Albertsons, Buttery, City Market, Food 4 Less, Fred Meyer, Kroger, Publix, Ralph's, Safeway and Sam's Club. More than 20 million pounds of Penguin Brand Dry Ice per year is sold through these stores. Through internal growth more than 320 acquisitions, Airgas has built a national packaged gas distribution network that includes more than 900 branch locations, cylinder fill plants, production facilities, specialty gas laboratories and regional distribution centers. Founded in 1982, Airgas maintains its headquarters in Radnor, Pa.
