Charles Fleming and Orland Hazen founded the Sunflower Manufacturing Company in 1945. Originally known as Sunflower Express, the company s first products were tillage tools. The company manufactures field cultivators, soil conditioners, disc harrows and a range of supplemental equipment for the farming industry. Sunflower Manufacturing Company is one of the leading manufacturers and marketers of tillage, seeding and specialty harvesting equipment. Located in Beloit, Kan., the company is the planter and tillage division of AGCO Corporation, a publicly traded agricultural equipment manufacturer based in Duluth, Ga. AGCO acquired Sunflower Manufacturing Company in 2002. Its shares are listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol AG. ACGO Corporation was formed in 1990.
