The Addictions Care Center of Albany, also known as ACCA, is a private, nonprofit organization that offers a variety of addiction treatment and prevention programs for more than 6,000 people throughout the Capital Region in New York. Founded in 1967, it provides community residence and education and professional development and training programs. The organization offers An Apple A Day, which is a program that focuses on alcohol and other drug abuse education for students in kindergarten through grade four. It operates a chemical dependency crisis center that provides detoxification services for over 3,500 individuals annually. The Addictions Care Center of Albany offers outpatient clinic programs that include relapse prevention and individual and group counseling services. The center also prepares personalized treatment plans and conducts life skills training sessions for adolescents and children. It is licensed by the New York State Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse.
