About Adams Paint ADAMS PAINT MANUFACTURING COMPANY was established in 1955 by M.L. ( RED ) ADAMS. Red Adams was a well respected commercial painting contractor in the Lubbock Texas area, before founding the paint manufacturing company. His two goals, make a high quality product, have excellent customer service. Red's two sons, Jerry and James Adams grew up working in the contracting business. As young men, they began working for Red in the paint manufacturing and retail paint sales business. The company was incorporated in 1970. Red Adams asked his sons to join him in ownership of the new corporation. Red managed the company until his retirement in 1984. He continued as a consultant until his passing in 2001. Jerry served as president of the company from 1984 to 1999. James took over as president in 1999. Under their leadership the company experienced continued growth and built upon an already solid reputation in the West Texas region. It grew to over 35, 000 square feet of shop space under roof and continued to employ many time tested methods while also constantly adding in modern manufacturing techniques. During this time Adams Paint's core business transitioned away from architectural paints to industrial paints and coatings. James resigned as President in 2008 and continues to work full time. Adams Paint is now in it's third generation of family ownership, lead by two of James's son's, Ron and Jim Adams. Both started working during the summers of their high school years, much like their uncle and father did. They watched and eventually helped their Grandfather, Uncle and Father build a successful business. And today, 55 years later their goals remains the same of those their Grandfather set, make a high quality product, have excellent customer service.
