Academy of Performing Arts is an arts community located in Orleans, Mass. Established in 1975, it is a nonprofit organization, producing a variety of art performances, and nurturing artistic development within the Cape Cod community. Its playhouse delivers theater, musicals, comedies and other original works. Its school offers a wide variety of dance, music and art classes for children, teenagers and adults. Its faculty of teachers and artists are accomplished in all aspects of theater, dance, music and art. The academy depends upon membership donations, as well as public and private grants, to help develop and expand its facilities. Academy of Performing Arts playhouse runs largely from ticket sales, and the school on tuitions from classes, in addition to donations and grants.
