American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, also known as AACRAO, is a nonprofit, voluntary, professional association. It is comprised of more than 10,000 higher education admission and registration professionals who represent over 2,500 institutions in nearly 30 countries. The association provides guidelines and standards for admission procedures, administrative information technology, student services, and records and enrollment management. AACRAO also serves as a forum for discussion regarding policy initiation and development, as well as interpretation and implementation at the institutional level. It conducts a variety of meetings and workshops for enhancing the professional development of members. In addition, the association provides technology solutions and helps institutions in implementing student information systems, as well as improving efficiency and services. AACRAO is located in Washington, D.C., and additionally offers variety of publications that assist members with professional development.
