HISTORY: Doyle and Charlotte Harris opened A-1 Key, Lock and Safe Service in 1979 . It had a really small beginning as a drive up lock shop in the parking lot ticket booth of the old Cinema III movie theater in Monroe, Louisiana. Over the years Doyle and Charlotte upgraded buildings, equipment and techniques. They saw the industry progress from simple car and house keys to the new technology of transponder keys, keyless entry and pretty house keys. In 2008 Doyle Harris contacted Clint Cox about taking over the ownership of A-1. Doyle and Charlotte wanted someone to continue their values of God, family and good customer service. A-1 was purchased by the Cox Family and the name was shortened to A-1 Key & Lock, LLC. In this first year A-1 went through more changes and upgrades than it had in the previous thirty-one years combined. Clint and Angela incorporated their expertise of financial equipment with A-1's already expanding locksmith division. Clint and Angela knew that the key to a thriving business was to acquire and continuously train the right locksmiths and financial equipment technicians to make sure that they understood that the ultimate goal of A-1 was to make the company successful by keeping the customer happy. Now as we at A-1 look back at our progress over the years, we know how truly blessed we have been. We have finally through many trials and even more errors found what works for us. We are so very proud of our A-1 Family and we look forward to helping you in any way we can.
