General Info: Three Bears Alaska is a chain of retail grocery stores that traces its beginnings back to 1980 when Larry Weisz purchased a small grocery store in Tok, Alaska. The company operated the store under the name of Frontier Foods until 1989 when it changed its store and corporate name to Three Bears Alaska. During the 1990s it opened a mini-warehouse store format in Kenai, Alaska, that spread over an area of more than 45,000 square feet. The company offers a mix of bulk warehouse and grocery products. Some of its stores operate pharmacies and fuel stations, serving various communities in Alaska.
