Michael Reed is a life-long Alaskan. Mr. Reed has a depth of knowledge in the mental health field. His first job in mental health was at Alternatives Community Mental Health working with emotionally and/or behaviorally troubled children. He then worked at Juvenile Probation and Alaska Children's Services. His experiences with adults comes from working at Akeela House (residential substance abuse program); Alaska Department of Corrections; Clitheroe Center (residential and outpatient substance abuse programs) as the clinical manager. He is now in private practice. In total Mr. Reed has 17 years experience in the mental health, corrections, and substance abuse fields. Mr. Reed earned his Bachelors Degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a minor in Criminal Justice. He then earned his Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology with research emphasis in Forensic Psychology. He is now enrolled in the Alaska Pacific University's Doctorate of Counseling Psychology program or Psy.D. program with an expected graduation of 2018. Mr. Reed is a licensed Psychological Associate (#673) by the Alaska Board of Psychologists and Psychological Associates. He and his wife love to explore Alaska and travel.
